Dr. Shamoun was born in Iraq, lived in Turkey and moved to the United States at the age of 11. Dr. Shamoun graduated from Wayne State University (WSU) with a Bachelors in Biological Sciences, then later followed her childhood dreams and earned a Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from University of Louisville (UofL) School of Dentistry. While there, Dr. Shamoun taught dental students endodontic and operative dentistry courses.
She also provided dental care in underserved areas of eastern and western Kentucky. Growing up with limited access to the dentist and fearing the dentist herself, Dr. Shamoun is committed to providing a comfortable dental experience and optimal dental care to her patients.

Dr. Shamoun enjoys painting, traveling, and spending quality time with her fiancée and their cat, Milo.
